Intellectual Disability
Children with intellectual disabilities can learn new skills, but they learn them at a different pace or in a different way. There are many other signs of intellectual disability in children. Symptoms may be noticed during infancy, or they may not be noticeable until school age. Recognition of the condition often depends on the severity of the disability over time. OTs assist children with intellectual disabilities in making adaptations that fit their skill level.
