Congenital Malformations
Congenital malformations can be mild to severe and can affect one or many body parts or systems. According to the World Health Organization, “Congenital anomalies can contribute to long-term disability, which may have a significant impact on individuals, families, healthcare systems and societies.” An OT brings function through meaningful occupation and becomes part of a medical team surrounding a child with this condition.
